The time has come to announce that the team at ICON.net are moving offices and plan to be in and fully operational by Monday, 14th March. Based in Gloucester, near Eastgate Street for the past 15 years, the move isn’t a big one geographically but coincides with the ongoing expansion of the company.

The new offices at Friars Court, College Street occupy part of an ancient medieval site overlooking Gloucester cathedral and College Street itself has a long and interesting history. The whole team are itching to get into these impressive new offices and start another chapter in the history of ICON.net.

Read more about our move

With such milestones just around the corner, make sure to keep an eye out for more news and announcements shortly…

Forgive the pun but, to be honest, we just couldn’t resist it. It was one of those rare occasions when the opportunity was just too good to miss and, both literally as well as metaphorically, it’s absolutely true we have been snowed under.

Fortunately all the white slushy stuff has gone (for the time being at least – we’ve still got the rest of the winter to face) but, happily, our busy workload continues so apologies for the fact that this is our first post of 2010. But don’t worry. There’ll be plenty more.

Our newly launched and revamped website for the Gloucester Heritage Urban Regeneration Company (GHURC) features a forward looking design and utilises the latest interactive and social media to engage users allowing them to share any page onto their individual social media/networking profiles.

Not only is there a new customisable Home page featuring draggable and collapsable panels that are remembered for each user, but users can also choose their preferred background image which stays with them as they navigate the rest of the website.

Videos from YouTube and images from Flickr help to power each of the Magnificent Seven pages. In addition, the latest tweets from GHURC on the home page, help people keep right up to date with what’s going on in the City.

Take a look for yourself at www.gloucesterurc.co.uk

Despite the recession, we’ve been kept pretty busy with both existing as well as new clients and now, with the worst of the recession seemingly behind us – at least that’s what we’d like to believe – we’ve just won website pitches for four new clients.

So, on behalf of all the team, we’d like to welcome Wiltshire company Linpac Environmental, Lydney based Whitecroft Essentials Ltd, the Gloucestershire Association of Parish and Town Councils and Gloucestershire Music.

In addition, we’re about to launch new websites for the Gloucester Heritage Urban Regeneration Company (GHURC), Cheltenham Borough Council for its Conference Cheltenham and London insurance brokers John Ansell & Partners for its extreme sports insurance with all sites powered by our own OTPS v5.0 content management system.

And if you don’t think that’s being busy, we’re also currently working with existing clients on several new web and brochure projects due for completion later in the year.

Up to this point pedestrian and vehicular access to our office has been unaffected but now the roadworks are right outside and this section of Barton Street is closed and likely to remain so until around mid June.

There is vehicular access to Barton Street from Trier Way/Burton Way with signposted diversion, we recommend you park in the station, in Burton Street NCP or in either of the Wellington Street car parks and just take a short stroll to No 122-126.

We’ll be delighted to see you and within minutes of your arrival we promise a reviving cup of tea or coffee (sorry it’s nothing stronger!)
